Like a Star @ heaven RKK Staff Application Guide Like a Star @ heaven

*First off, I'm not an expert but i do have a knack for these things. This is just a simple/easy guide on how to make a good looking and adequate Staff application. This guide is mostly FAQ w/answers

Information
There are 2 types of information that you must include when making a staff application:

-Primary Information[required]: Primary information is your Name, Age, Location, Time Zone, availability, contact information and any possible IGN's ( The GM's are likely to monitor serious applicants In game this is more so to give an impression on the GMs/Admins)

-Secondary Information[what gets you the job]: The secondary information is any information besides the primary information that you would like to include. This may refer to "self interview questions" a very popular method of displaying personal information.

Example: Why should I be hired for [GM/FM/CM/Dev/Admin]?: ***Insert Reason Here***

secondary information has many possibilities that should be explored. Also secondary information should be answered/given in paragraph form. Sentences are not enough. Remember; The longer and fuller your application is shows the more time and effort you put into your application as well as people want to learn as much as possible about who they're voting for.

Color/Design

There are a lot of Do's And Dont's with color and design, and believe it or not there is a psychology with color that can sub-consciously influence someones decisions, So you have to think carefully when choosing your colors so that it looks good and influences the voters decision.

Color DO's[colors you Want/Need in your application]
Blue - this color catches the eye the fastest out of every other color in the hue-index. Also blue creates a sub-conscious feeling of trust and loyalty in the brain, this is a good color to have in your application, preferably in the application title.

Green - Green is a natural color as it appears in almost everything in nature Green is the easiest color on your eyes in the hue-index ( therefore people will not get irritated when reading your application. an amazing thing about green, when its applied to text it increases reading speed and comprehension! Great for the body of your paragraphs etc.

Brown: Brown is an easy color on the eyes, it also invokes a sense of "Sophistication" but be careful when using this color in large quantities, as it can appear depressing and isolated.

Orange : Orange is an attention getter, it also creates an sensation of excitement in the brain. But its not that easy on the eyes. Only use this for headings, nothing more.

Color DONTS [ You dont want these colors in your application]

red: Red is hard on the eyes, also it induces anger and irritation in the brain. If your going to use this color, use it it small amounts.

yellow: Yellow is the hardest color on the eyes in the hue-index, it can even become over-whelming in moderate to large amounts. It induces frustration and flares tempers. use this color in small amounts.

Pink: this is a surprising one indeed, But the color pink is only good in small amounts, it creates agitation in large amounts. limit the use of this color.

purple: Another surprising one, This color is moderate on the eyes and looks exotic, But it makes a person feel calm, and lazy. this is not good for your application because people will get bored easily. Use this is small amounts.

Events

When choosing events make sure you appeal to everyone. young and old, PVP's and Questers, etc.
If you have a hard time thinking of events, don't be afraid to use Google, to get some ideas from other flyffers or even look for different game forums all together such as maplestory, W.O.W, and morph there events into your own idea, or completely different. you should feature at least 4 possible events.

Also people LOVE forum events: Contests and games that will be carried out on the forums that the community can play together or compete against each other for a mutual goal or prize.

Language:

Language is a crucial part of an application. People don't want someone who has terrible grammar, terrible spelling abilities etc.

Do
- use proper grammar and spelling.
- use appropriate punctuation.
- use your vocabulary to the fullest extent.

Dont
- tlk Lyk Thizz <--- that's unprofessional and looks retarded.
- don't use/spam "..." <--- dot dot dot should only be used when there is a prolonged pause, but this is an application so this should NEVER be used (this is incorrect punctuation.)
- give useless/random information: Sadly we don't care if you have 23 nieces and like to play with your cousin on the weekend. unless it has something to do with applying for a staff position don't put it.
- list your fears and weaknesses. For some reason a lot of you have been doing this, its a HUGE mistake to exploit yourself that way. DON'T DO IT.
- swear/use vulgar language. No one wants to hear it in a staff application, it looks rude and leaves a bad impression.
- give biased opinions. If you state that you hate/dislike a certain gender/race/FlyffClass/guild/sexuality your going to be socially destroyed. as a GM/Admin/CM/FM/Dev is not supposed to be biased and treat everyone with equality.

*basically abide by this rule: If your thinking if its a good idea or not, then DON'T DO IT. Its your best bet!

Like a Star @ heaven Symbols/Smileys? Smile :

This is more of a no for me, smileys should only be used in your conclusion. symbols can be used as margins etc. Nothing more, nothing less.

Additional Notes:
-Developers, show your work. don't just apply without anything to back you up.
-The bigger the better ( with applications )
-Dont apply if your never going to be on
-Dont apply if you're not sure if you can handle the responsibility that come with the applied position
-No one likes an asshole
-Include the community in your application, it makes the community feel important.

" I hope we can make Giolog better together" <---- keywords: "We" and "together"
"I hope we can make this happen"<--- keyword "we"
