I have a server idea which the owner / gms might look over and see what they think, its only a idea so dont flame me, it might help with a little bit of the lagg / crash's if any
Right now you are running 1 Server
the launcher connects to it and loads that little webpage
your server specs are around average not great but better than alot of servers out there
ok your machine which will run Launcher/Launcher-website/Patcher/Msql/Account Server
this machine dose not have to be great just something basic standalone this
basic server will not take much presure just handleing the back bone of the hole game
now we have a 2nd machine which will run
a World server (Thats all)
Dont run other things on this server as it eats ram/cpu usage and those amd athlon x2 5000 dosent take much to eat the memory as i have about 12 of them at my cafe
now you get one of your trusted (well trusted) admins
to run a 3RD server which will run a
World server (No other tasks etc etc)
Now when you launch flyff you have options of server
have it so you have Normal server
And Server Two
So people can select whichs server they wish to connect to like offical server you have a couple of options
so 150 people can connect to one server and 150 people can connect to the other server
Accounts/items/guilds and everything will be the same, as Both world servers are connected to the MSQL database which store's the account infomation so if say 1 server goes down there is allways a backup server or if to many people are connected on one server and people are getting alot of lagg they can logout and join the other server with less people on it
This way at least load is over 2 servers. also should ask members to chip in and get a .com or .net domain name and some good hosting and host your site/forum there saves some trouble if everyone throws in 1$
Anyway please comment on this idea, some of you might think its stupid and a waste of time, but really it might help out in the long run. i own a internet cafe in australia. i got 12 or so of those computers there not really made for a server, i have tested windows 2008 server on one before (I am a msdn user close to unlimited copys of microsoft products, so i dont mind shareing some unused keys for products or throwing money in for a domain name or other things)
